Like many of us, Mark had a train set as a youngster, received as a Christmas present. The first layout was a simple piece of plywood with a river drawn in with a blue crayon and trees cut from green construction paper! Great fun, but then school, family, and career intruded. He got back into the hobby in his early 50's, and has built four layouts since, the last three having been exhibited at local and regional train shows. He is currently retired, and works at his county natural history museum as a docent, and presents at regional and national NMRA conventions. He still plays with trains.
Building an N Scale Layout; Step by Step, From the Base Up
This clinic will take you step by step through the building of a 3 foot by 7 foot free lance N scale layout. Topics discussed and illustrated will be layout base, track, wiring, scenery, water features, buildings, and the use of small details to aid in the creation of a miniature world. No previous experience is assumed... if you've never built a layout before, hesitant to build something more elaborate, or just need motivation to get started, this is the clinic for you!
