Jeff Fryman has had a lifelong interest in trains, well actually railroading. His eclectic interests have included modelling in HO, modelling in 1/8 scale, operating “the big stuff” at the Illinois Railway Museum, being a “rail fan” and actually working on the railroad. One core element in his interest is realistic rail operations. He is one of the principals in the Operations Road Show teaching layout that was presented at multiple NMRA Conventions from 2003 to 2018 and is now operational in his basement.
CLINIC - Operations Roadshow: Introduction to TT & TO
Operations Road Show (ORS) will be presented this year in cooperation with modules from FreeMo-N. This clinic will introduce prospective operators to the operations concept and explain the paperwork that participants in the hands-on clinic sessions will use. Topics will include the history and background of the ORS; use of timetables, train orders, messages, OS’ing and the etiquette expected when running on the layout. This clinic is intended for attendees who sign up to participate in one of the operating clinic sessions during the week.
