The 2023 Texas Express is proud to announce that the Celebration Room theme for the convention will be “Texas.” There will be a special award presented by the national committee to honor the best representation of the theme. Anything Texas related qualifies. Longhorns, bluebonnets, the state flag, the shape of the state, cowboys… they all make you think of the Lone Star State. Start working now! The convention will be upon us in no time! The Celebration Room is managed and controlled by the NMRA National Contest Committee - Bill Brown, Chairman. The red button link below, "NMRA Celebration Room," leads to the NMRA website and its celebration contests section. That section provides all the information on the NMRA Celebration of Models, Photos, and Crafts to be held at the 2023 Texas Express NMRA Convention. Also, there is information about the Module Contest which is part of the 2023National Train Show. Upon opening the page in the link below, please pay close attenetion to ALL the menu items listed on the right side of the page with special attention directed to the General Information link which details events, days, and times. Most all questions are answered in those meunu items. There is also a link to email questions. The NMRA Contest Committee has standardized the celebrations. The documentation is extensive and thorough. Here is the link!!  The 2023 Texas Express Convention will have a new contest separate from and not a part of the NMRA Celebration room. This will be a Mini Diorama build contest for everyone, young and old. It is listed here as a reference for gaining contest interest. The Mini Diorama had its beginnings in Japan and has been quite a draw in interesting the young into model railroading. It was very succesful when conducted at the Dallas Area 2023 Winter Train Show.
