2023 TEXAS EXPRESS
Model Railroading Clinics

Updated 01/03/2023

Clinic Presenter Bruce Petrarca, MMR

Bruce has had a life-long interest in all things electronic. Ham radio, he has been licensed since 1962. Broadcast radio, he was a top-40 DJ in the late ‘60s. DCC, he created Litchfield Station and built (with his wife, Linda) it into the second largest DCC retailer in the world. He has a way of making difficult subjects easy to understand, according to Litchfield Station customers and readers of his many columns on DCC in Model Railroad Hobbyist magazine.

He has been a NMRA member since 1999. He is currently the Superintendent and Achievement Program Manager for the Arizona Division of the Pacific Southwest Region, NMRA.

He is working on On30 and Fn3 models of depression-era Southwest Colorado narrow gauge railroading, drawing on his roots in Colorado.

CLINIC #1 of 2 - Basic Electronics for Model Railroaders

Bruce will cover basic electronic concepts that will help model railroaders understand what makes their locos run. Whether you are using DC or DCC or AC or Power-on-board, you will find something here that will make your life easier. If you don’t know an ohm from an amp from a watt, this is the clinic for you.

CLINIC #2 of 2 - More Slow Orders, Avoiding Disaster

Bruce and Linda will talk about things that every model railroader (and their families) should do to prepare for fire, flood, medical emergencies and death. A few things that, if you do them now, will make life easier for all involved. They wrote an article on these subjects in Model Raoiroad Hobbyist magazine over a decade ago. They have done clinics based on that article since.

New for 2023 and the Texas Express, they have revised the clinic and expanded it to make it even more relevant to the evolving world of model railroading.

As a modeler, you need to see this clinic and bring your family because this will affect them, too.
