Clinic Presenter Jeff Otto

Jeff Otto has had a lifelong interest in trains as well as steel mills and heavy industry. His interest in hand laying track started when building a 9-turnout complex that was in front of a mill building at Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling, Illinois. This led him to learn Autocad and learning everything he could about the prototypical design of track. Self taught in AutoCAD led to designing track drawings based on prototype drawings. He started Oak Hill Model Railroad Supply to supply hobbyists with cutting edge designs and parts to make the most realistic track available today. The new Roadmaster Series of track has started fulfilling this dream, with true to scale tie plates and frogs for turnouts designed directly from prototype drawings. He has many more new and exciting products in various phases of design yet to come.

CLINIC - Building Realistic Track for Your Model Railroad

Join Jeff as he explains prototype track and parts involved alongside Roadmaster series of track parts and how they all tie together. Topics will also include assembly and future innovations that will allow you to model specific places using cutting edge parts and products designed using prototype track drawings of track. He will also explain how easy it is to hand lay your own track and turnouts and how anyone can do it. This clinic is for anyone that wants to learn about prototype track geometry, parts and practices as well as those wanting to hand lay track for themselves.
