Clinic Presenter Bruce Evans





Bruce Evans (MPA, NRP, CFO, SPO) is the Fire Chief at the Upper Pine River Fire Protection District of Colorado. Chief Evans arrived in La Plata County, Colorado after serving as the EMS Chief and as an Assistant Chief at the North Las Vegas Fire Department in Southern Nevada. Chief Evans had served at the Henderson (NV) Fire Department for 18 years, seven as a fire captain and six as an EMS captain. Chief Evans holds a National designation as a Chief Fire Officer from the Centers for Public Safety Excellence. He is a NFPA Fire Instructor III and served as a college faculty member at the College of Southern Nevada’s Fire Technology program teaching various fire and EMS topics for 21 years.

Bruce is working on his MMR and knocked down his first certificate. He models 1964 Rock Island from Chicago to Des Moines. He lives in Durango and is a part of the Silver San Juan Division of the NMRA.



CLINIC - Modeling Emergency Scenes

An emergency scene can be an attractive point on a layout. Modeling emergency scenes in a prototypical way can add realism to a railroad. This clinic will look at modeling emergency scenes according to standardized responses meeting the National Fire Protection Association guidelines. Tips and techniques for vehicle placement, fire modeling and using LEDS in emergency operations will be presented.
