Tom Greco's Baltimore & Ohio and Colorado Midland Railroad
HO Scale

Tom Greco models the Baltimore & Ohio in 1929 and the Colorado Midland Railway in 1898 in HO scale ...... on the same railroad layout! Tom's railroad is still in the construction phase where all trackwork is complete and wiring is in progress. He is hoping for construction completion by the end of the year.

The only scenery Tom has on the railroad at this time is the Colorado Midland roundhouse, which he did for his "Prototype Model" certificate.

When the railroad construction is completed, Tom wants to spend some time just "running trains", so he doesn't know how much scenery will be done by the 2023 Texas Express convention time.

Tom conceives his railroad as a "one-man show" because he specializes in operation using employees' timetables of the respective periods and a 12-1 fast clock system. The railroad is an extension of Tom's historical research about his two favorite railroads. In addition to the use of the timetables and fast clock, Tom models his freight and passenger consists based on historical documents and/or research.

He has designed his railroad for continuous running in order to facilitate the running of trains over the long distances covered by both railroads. So, when folks ask Tom what part of the B&O or CM he models, he says, "all of it!" Minimum mainline radius is 40" but some curves go up to 48" radius. The railroad will currently be operated mostly by DC, although Tom is converting to DCC at a VERY slow pace.
